A disturbing incident has come to light from Pune, where a newly married woman allegedly died by suicide just three months after her wedding, reportedly unable to bear harassment at her marital home. According to preliminary information, the 27-year-old woman ended her life by jumping from a residential building in the Baner area, sending shockwaves through the locality. A criminal case has been registered against her in-laws, and police have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to her death. As per available details, the deceased has been identified as Ganga Tejas Bembalkar, aged 27, while her husband is Tejas Shiva Bembalkar, who is said to have pursued higher education in the United States. The couple had tied the knot barely three months ago. However, soon after the marriage, Ganga allegedly began facing mental and emotional harassment from her husband’s family. Unable to cope with the continued distress, she is believed to have taken the extreme step. The heartbreaking development has left both families and the local community in deep sorrow and disbelief.

Ganga’s parental family has accused her husband and his relatives of subjecting her to persistent cruelty, which they claim drove her to end her life by leaping from the building where she lived with her in-laws. Following the incident, her father lodged a formal complaint at the Baner police station in Pune. Based on his statement, a case has been registered against her husband, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and father-in-law. Police officials have confirmed that legal proceedings are underway and that statements from concerned individuals are being recorded as part of the probe.

After receiving the complaint, police conducted a detailed inspection of the scene and carried out the required legal formalities. During their examination, they reportedly recovered a suicide note from the spot. In the note, the woman is said to have mentioned that she alone was responsible for her decision. However, in light of the serious allegations made by her family, authorities are thoroughly investigating all possible angles. The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the area, with many expressing shock over the tragic loss of a young life.
