Amid ongoing outrage following a recent incident at the Swargate bus station in Pune, another disturbing case has emerged from Shirur taluka. Two men have been arrested for allegedly raping a young woman in Karegaon village.

The accused have been identified as Amol Narayan Pote (25), a resident of Karegaon in Shirur taluka, Pune, originally from Dhokrai Fata in Shrigonda taluka, and Kishor Rambhau Kale (29), also a resident of Karegaon, originally from Kille Dharur in Beed district.

The incident occurred when the victim and her cousin were chatting some distance away from their home. According to the police, the two accused arrived on a motorcycle and threatened the cousin with a knife. They forced him to have sexual intercourse with the victim and recorded the act on mobile phones.

Afterward, the two men allegedly raped the victim multiple times, threatening both her and her cousin with death. They also forcibly took gold ornaments from the victim, including a gold pendant from her neck and a gold ring from her nose.

A case has been registered, and both accused have been arrested. The court has granted police custody for further investigation.
