Pune, Maharashtra (March 4, 2025): A massive fire broke out at an electric bike manufacturing unit in the Sai Industrial Area on Katraj-Gujarwadi Road around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. Fire tenders rushed to the spot to contain the blaze. Thick smoke and flames were seen billowing from the unit.

The blaze reportedly consumed materials sufficient to manufacture at least 2,000 electric bikes. According to reports, around 150 partially built electric bikes were also destroyed.

Fire brigade teams responded quickly, reaching the site within eight minutes. Firefighting vehicles from Gangadham, Katraj, Kondhwa Budruk, and PMRDA fire stations were deployed. Three municipal tankers and ten private water tankers assisted in the operation.

No casualties have been reported so far. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Firefighting efforts are still underway.
