Pune, Maharashtra (March 17, 2025): A 15-year-old girl, her brother, and her cousin were attacked with a koyta by a gang near Bharatiya Samaj Mitra Mandal in the Yerawada area around 2:30 a.m. on March 14. Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the attack.

The accused have been identified as Prem Vicky Sasane, 18, Ayan Yunus Shaikh, 19, and Ronald alias Gudya Vinod Anand, 18. All are residents of Yashwantnagar in Yerawada. The victims have been identified as Ganesh Sanjay Matang, Ragini Sanjay Matang, and Aman Adagale. A complaint was filed by Ashwini Sanjay Matang at Yerawada police station.

According to police, the Matang family lives in Yerawada. On March 14, Ashwini sent her daughter Ragini to a nearby shop. The accused, who were sitting in the area, attempted to smear colors on Ragini’s body. When she resisted and raised an alarm, they verbally abused Ashwini, who had come to confront them. Moments later, they attacked Ganesh, Ragini, and Aman with a koyta, causing serious injuries.

Police said a 15-year-old girl was stabbed in the leg. An 11-year-old boy was struck on the head with a stone and sustained injuries to his finger. He collapsed due to dizziness. Another girl, the complainant’s niece, was also kicked and severely injured.

The victims were rushed to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.

Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Shelke is leading the investigation.
