In a shocking incident in Pune’s Chandan Nagar area, an engineer allegedly slit the throat of his three-year-old son and dumped his body in a nearby forest. The accused, Madhav Tiketi, was later found in a drunken state at a lodge. The deceased child, Himmat Madhav Tiketi, was the only son of Madhav and his wife, Swaroopa. The family hails from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.
According to the police, Madhav suspected his wife's character, leading to a heated argument on Thursday afternoon. In a fit of rage, he threw his three-year-old son out of the house, leaving him outside for the entire day. Around 12:30 am, Madhav left the house, visited a supermarket, and later took the child into the Chandan Nagar Forest. When neither returned home, Swaroopa filed a missing persons complaint at Chandan Nagar Police Station.

Upon receiving the complaint, police analyzed CCTV footage, which showed Madhav with his son around 2:30 pm on Thursday. However, by 5 pm, Madhav was seen alone, buying clothes. Using phone tracking, the police located him at a lodge, where he was found in an intoxicated state. After regaining consciousness, Madhav confessed to the crime, revealing that he had killed his son and dumped his body in the forest.
Following his statement, police reached the scene and recovered the child's body with his throat slit. A case of murder has been registered against Madhav Tiketi, who is currently in police custody. Senior officials have confirmed that further investigation is underway.
