Pune Metro Update: Pune Metro will suspend passenger services for nine hours on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, in observance of Dhulivandan, the Pune Metro Rail announced on its official social media handle on Monday. Metro operations across the city will remain halted from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 3. Services will resume at 3 p.m. and continue until 11 p.m. under the regular schedule.
Commuters are advised to take note of the temporary service gap and plan their travel accordingly. Regular full-day services are expected to resume the following day.
Meanwhile, the Pune Traffic Police have announced extensive security and traffic arrangements for Dhulivandan and Holi celebrations. According to the Pune Times Mirror reports, more than 800 traffic personnel will be deployed at major junctions, busy roads and sensitive areas to prevent accidents and maintain order.
Special checkpoints will be set up across the city to act against violations such as drunk driving, riding without helmets, triple riding and overspeeding. Vehicles of offenders will be seized and criminal cases registered. Breathalyser tests will be conducted at key locations throughout the day and night.
