Pune: A case has been registered against a bus driver in connection with an accident in which students were injured after the bus hit a pole at Kalepadal Police Station. This tragic accident occurred on Thursday April 2, 2026 in the Kalepadal area of ​​Hadapsar. In this several students sustained injuries in this mishap.

Accused identified as Amol Vinayak Borate following a complaint lodged which states that on Thursday around 1:00 PM, Borate, a bus driver transporting students from a school in Hadapsar, lost control of the vehicle near Mhsoba Temple in Kalepadal.

The bus subsequently crashed into an electric pole situated along the roadside. There were approximately 25 to 30 students on board the bus at the time. The students sustained injuries as a result of the bus colliding with the pole. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police rushed to the scene. A case was registered against the bus driver, holding him responsible for the accident due to driving the bus at excessive speed.

The impact of the collision caused the electric pole to bend completely. The police utilized a crane to remove the bus from the spot and subsequently restored the smooth flow of traffic. Police Sub-Inspector Pooja Patil is conducting further investigations into the matter.
