A shocking video showing a pan shop vendor being brutally assaulted by a group of seven to eight men has gone viral on social media, triggering widespread outrage. The incident reportedly took place in Pune’s Magarpatta area, where the attackers were seen thrashing the vendor, hurling abuses, threatening him and vandalising his shop. In the footage, the men can be seen damaging the shop as the vendor desperately tries to defend himself. As per the CCTV timestamp visible in the video, the assault occurred on January 24. The exact reason behind the attack remains unclear, but netizens have strongly condemned the violence and demanded strict action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, Pune also witnessed a daring daylight robbery in the Somwar Peth area, where thieves broke into a flat and made away with cash and jewellery worth ₹3.12 lakh. According to the police, the woman residing in the flat had locked her house and stepped out around 11.15 am on Tuesday for some work. Given that the house is located in a densely populated area with constant movement, she did not anticipate any possibility of theft during her absence.
However, when she returned home at around 2.45 pm, she discovered that the lock had been broken and the cupboard inside the house had been forced open. The burglars managed to steal gold jewellery and cash amounting to ₹3,12,330 within a span of just three and a half hours. The woman immediately approached the Samarth Police Station and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered against unknown persons, and the police have begun scanning CCTV footage from the surrounding areas to identify the culprits.
