The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has issued an official clarification regarding the process for selecting approved members for the Pune Municipal Corporation General Election 2025–26. The clarification was shared through a press note released by the Information and Public Relations Office. The civic body stated that the PMC General Election was successfully held on January 15, 2026. In line with instructions issued by the Election Commission, the selection of approved members will commence only after the completion of the first special meeting convened following the election of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor.

The PMC further explained that the formal procedure for appointing approved members will begin only after the mandatory special meeting is conducted. To maintain transparency and ensure faster processing, the civic administration has introduced a fully digital system for issuing the compulsory No Objection Certificate (NOC) required for approved members. This online mechanism is aimed at minimising paperwork, strengthening accountability, and ensuring a smoother verification process. The initiative is expected to make the post-election administrative process more efficient and systematic for all stakeholders involved.

According to the PMC, candidates selected as approved members must submit their NOC applications through the designated online portal. The application link will remain active from January 20 to February 15, 2026. The civic body has made it clear that applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered under any circumstances. Applicants have been advised to carefully complete all required details and upload the necessary documents to prevent rejection or delays. The PMC believes this digital move will significantly enhance transparency in civic administration.
