Pune: Proposal to Acquire Additional Land for Ring Road Submitted; Awaiting State Approval

The Corporation has submitted a proposal to the State Government to acquire additional land in some places in the eastern and western parts of the outer ring road being constructed by the State Road Development Corporation. In this, 10 villages will be acquired for the western part and some in 22 villages in the eastern part. After the State Government approves the proposal, the land acquisition process will be implemented by the District Administration. Also, the District Administration informed that land will be acquired in these two villages as the design of the ring road in Chambli and Hiware villages has changed. Meanwhile, it was also said that 30 hectares of land out of the acquisition of the eastern part will be acquired in the next fortnight.

Two ring roads are proposed for Pune city to overcome the traffic congestion in the Pune and Pimpri areas. The outer ring road is being implemented by the State Road Development Corporation. The Corporation has requested additional land from the State Government for the roads in the eastern and western parts of the ring road. Additional land has also been proposed for service roads and various facilities. In this, acquisition will be carried out in 10 villages of Chandkhed, Muthe, Katawadi, Khopi, Bahuli, Rahatwade, Urse, Ghotawade, Parandwadi, Kasar Amboli for the western part. While for the eastern part, Nanoli will acquire in the villages of Akurdi, Lonikand, Bakori, Bivari, Koregaon Mul, Pawarwadi, Garade, Dive, Chambli, Vadgaon Maval, Sudumbare, Khalumbre, Hiware, Kuruli, Solu, Nighoje, Dhanore, Sonori, Dhapewadi. Since the plan has been changed in two villages of Chambli and Hiware, further acquisition will be carried out here as well, informed Land Acquisition Coordinator Dr. Kalyan Pandhare.

Meanwhile, the acquisition of the western part is being completed. Work orders have been given to five companies for the work here. Although these companies have started the preliminary work, the formal ground-breaking ceremony has not yet been held. Out of the 265 hectares of land acquisition in the eastern part, 30 hectares are yet to be acquired. In a recent meeting in this regard, the Corporation's Joint Managing Director Laxminarayan Mishra and District Collector Jitendra Dudi have issued instructions to announce the acquisition awards soon and complete the acquisition process as soon as possible, informed Haveli Provincial Officer Yashwant Mane. These awards will be completed by April 25 and the acquisition will be completed in the next fifteen days, Mane also clarified on this occasion.
