The Regional Transport Office took action against unauthorized private vehicles parked outside major bus stations in Pune. The enforcement squad Vayuveg conducted inspections at Swargate, Shivajinagar, and Pune Station bus stands. Authorities penalized 66 vehicles for violations related to insurance, licenses, and uniform regulations. Officials detained 14 vehicles and collected ₹3.15 lakh in fines.

The crackdown follows concerns about security at bus stations after an incident involving a young woman on a Shivshahi bus at Swargate depot. The presence of unauthorized private vehicles had become a growing issue as they entered the bus stand area to pick up passengers.

Regional Transport Officer Archana Gaikwad and Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale supervised the operation. The squad carried out inspections for two consecutive days, focusing on private vehicles parked within 200 meters of the depots in no-parking zones. Authorities also took action against vehicles with expired licenses, insurance, and permits.

Motor Vehicle Inspector Nilesh Bansode led the operation with Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspectors Bhagyashree Patil and Kanchan Aware.

Deputy Regional Transport Officer Swapnil Bhosale said officials inspected private vehicles outside the bus stations and took action against 66 violators. He said the crackdown will continue to ensure compliance with transport regulations.
