A disturbing incident of sexual assault has come to light from the Warje area of Pune, where a man allegedly drugged and assaulted his sister-in-law. The case has shocked the victim's family and prompted a police investigation. According to police reports, the 18-year-old survivor recently filed a complaint at the Warje police station against her 36-year-old brother-in-law. The incident reportedly occurred six months ago during the Navratri festival, but the survivor disclosed the assault to her family only recently.

Authorities said the accused took advantage of the family's absence when they were away attending a Navratri pilgrimage. The victim, who had complained of a headache, was given two pills by the accused. After consuming them, she lost consciousness. The accused allegedly used this opportunity to sexually assault her and took obscene photographs while she was unconscious. The survivor told police that the accused later threatened to leak the photos online if she revealed the incident to anyone. He also reportedly used the photos to defame her in front of her husband and in-laws, even showing them to her father-in-law during a later argument.

The woman finally mustered the courage to inform her family, who supported her in approaching law enforcement. Following her complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and have launched a full investigation into the matter. The authorities are currently gathering evidence and questioning witnesses as the probe continues.
