A birthday celebration in the Dehu Road area of Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune turned tragic on Thursday night when a 37-year-old man, Vikram Guruswami Reddy, was shot and killed.  Reddy and his friend, Nandkishor Yadav, were celebrating Yadav's niece's birthday when a group of people objected to the gathering. 

An argument ensued, escalating into a physical fight where Yadav was injured.  Reddy intervened to try and resolve the situation, but one of the individuals in the opposing group then shot him.  Reddy was taken to the hospital but died from his injuries.  Police have identified the suspects and are currently conducting an investigation.
