Pune, Maharashtra (April 8, 2025): A youth suffered burns while performing a fire stunt on a Mallakhamb pole during a Ram Navami procession in Talegaon Dabhade on April 6. A video of the incident has surfaced on social media, showing a youth performing the stunt when flames suddenly engulf his face.

Police have registered a case against two individuals in connection with the incident. The accused have been identified as Suraj Suresh Thorat (25) from Somatane in Maval and Shivam Sudhir Kasar (20) from Kothrud in Pune. Police constable Krishna Katkade filed a complaint at Talegaon Dabhade police station.

According to the police, a procession was organized to mark Ram Navami in Talegaon Dabhade. Authorities had prohibited sword fighting and fire-related stunts during the event. However, organizer Suraj Thorat allegedly instructed performer Shivam Kasar to carry out a fire stunt on the Mallakhamb pole. While attempting the act, Kasar sustained burns on his face and suffered injuries. Following the incident, police registered a case against both the organizer and the performer.
