Pune, Maharashtra (Saturday, March 14, 2026): A toddler girl’s hand got stuck in a lift door at a housing society in the Dighi area of Pimpri-Chinchwad, an incident captured on CCTV that has since gone viral on social media. According to available information, the incident occurred while residents were using the lift as usual. Two young girls had entered the elevator with family members when the mishap took place.

As the lift door began to open, one of the girls extended her hand toward the door. The door then retracted, trapping her hand in the lift mechanism.

The incident caused panic among people present at the scene. Residents immediately stopped the lift and tried to free the child’s hand. After several minutes of effort, they were able to safely pull it out.

No serious injuries were reported, according to available information.

The CCTV footage of the incident has circulated widely on social media, drawing mixed reactions from users. Some raised concerns about lift safety in residential buildings, while others said parents should keep a close watch on young children while using elevators.
