Pune, Maharashtra (July 1, 2025): One person died, and three others were injured when a slab from an under-construction building collapsed in the Camp area of Pune on Tuesday. The incident took place around 1 p.m. when workers were pouring concrete for a slab. According to initial reports, the slab suddenly gave way, and four labourers fell from the structure. Shubhankar Mandal died on the spot, while three other workers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Initial reports said the labourers were not wearing any safety gear while working on the site. The lack of protective equipment is being looked into as a possible cause for the severity of the injuries.

Following the incident, police and fire brigade officials arrived at the scene and began an investigation. Authorities are also checking whether the construction was being carried out as per approved safety norms.
