Pune Municipal corporation has claimed that all kinds of safety measures are taken while doing the work of flyover work in Ghorpadi. However, these claims were false after a boy fell in a pit full of water and died by drowning. This incident has raised the safety concerns and questions about how did boy go there?  The Municipal Corporation's Project Department has taken up the work of constructing a flyover on the Miraj railway line in Ghorpadi. A pit has been dug by the contractor behind the Sai Baba temple for the flyover pillars. However, a sewage pipe burst while digging the pit and the pit filled with contaminated water. Due to this, the work was stopped. Meanwhile, on March 29, a child named Krish Subhash Angarkar (9, Ra. Khan Road, near Racecourse) drowned in the water in the pit.

After this incident, Municipal Corporation officials inspected the scene. 'There was a sheet barricading around the pit work, a high mound of soil on one side and a security guard was posted,' the Municipal Corporation has claimed. "No one goes there except security guards and contractor workers," it has been clarified. Security was taken care of at this place, so how did the boy go there? If the security guard was on duty, questions have started to arise as to why he did not stop the boy from going to the pit. The incident is being investigated by the police.
