A speeding car suddenly caught fire at around 11 am on Friday morning on Patas-Daund road. Although the car was completely burnt to ashes in this incident, fortunately there were no casualties. According to the information received, as soon as the car going from Patas to Daund reached the Gar Phata, smoke suddenly started coming out and the car caught fire in an instant.

Realizing the seriousness of the situation, the two passengers in the car immediately got down. Due to this, a major disaster was averted. As soon as the information was received, the youths of the area rushed to extinguish the fire in the car. The fire was brought under control by continuous spraying of water. The situation was likely to become more serious as there was a petrol pump at some distance from the spot; however, a major accident was averted as the fire was doused in time.

Due to this incident, traffic on both sides of the Patas-Daund road was stopped for some time. The police tried to normalize the traffic. Meanwhile, it is being speculated that a short circuit may have been the reason behind the fire in the car. Further investigation is underway.
