Pune Weather Update: Light Rain and Thunderstorm in Kothrud, Baner and Several Areas Amid High Temperatures

Amidst the heat wave across the city, light rainfall in Pune has cooled down the temperature. Kothrud, Shuvaji Nagar, Aundh, Sinhagad and Baner experienced light rain fall with thunder storm. 

Met department has issued a yellow alert for Wednesday, anticipating the possibility of heavy rainfall accompanied by strong gusty winds across the state.  A cautionary alert has been issued for Wednesday, March 18, as forecasts predict rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 50 kilometers per hour.

On other hand met department has forecast that scorching heat and sultry conditions will persist across the rest of the state, accompanied by a likelihood of rain and lightning. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, night, heavy rains accompanied by gusty winds lashed parts of the state, including Western Maharashtra and Marathwada.

The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for tomorrow. In Western Maharashtra, Solapur and Akkalkot experienced rain, while Sangli had a hailstorm. Miraj was hit by heavy winds and hail-laden rain around 8 PM, followed by a steady drizzle with thunder and lightning.
