Women in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will be able to travel for free on Tejaswini buses, which are specially launched for female passengers. On the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8), the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal (pmpml) will offer free travel on 13 designated routes across the city.
This initiative will allow women to travel free of charge for the entire day, ensuring **safe and hassle-free commuting.
Key Highlights of the Initiative:
- Free travel for women passengers on all Tejaswini buses throughout Women's Day.
- Buses will operate from major depots, including Swargate, N.T. Wadi, Kothrud, Katraj, Hadapsar, Pune Station, Nigdi, Pimpri, and Bhosari.
- A total of 42 trips will run throughout the day to ensure smooth and uninterrupted service.
- Only women passengers will be allowed on these buses.
- Women conductors will be appointed, and depot chiefs will be present at bus stops to oversee operations.
- Women passengers will be welcomed with roses at bus stops as a gesture of appreciation.
