Locals in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district looted death broiler chickens specifically bred for meat production after a pickup truck hens from Amethi to Firozabad overturned on the Kannauj expressway after the driver fell asleep. Videos of people looting chickens went viral. Police and UPEIDA personnel intervened, dispersing the crowd while the injured were hospitalised.
As word spread, individuals were observed transporting the chickens to their homes. People varied in their transportation methods, with some on foot and others on bikes, possibly intending to make multiple trips. The injured in the accident have been swiftly taken to hospitals for medical attention.
Earlier on February 3, a major road accident took place on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Kannauj. Where a truck running in the overtake lane collided with a car coming from behind at a high speed. Two people in the car were killed in the accident. While one person has been seriously injured. He has been admitted to Saifai Medical College for treatment.
