The Income Tax Department has issued a notice on Wednesday (January 31) to taxpayers regarding scheduled maintenance activities on the e-filing portal (incometax.gov.in), which will result in restricted taxpayer services from 2 pm on Saturday, February 3, 2024, to 6 am on Monday, February 5, 2024.

During this period, taxpayers are advised that services on the e-filing portal that is incometax.gov.in, will be unavailable due to the necessary upgradation process. This temporary suspension of services is essential to ensure the smooth functioning and enhancement of the e-filing portal's capabilities.

The Income Tax Department urged taxpayers to plan their activities accordingly and to take note of the downtime period to avoid any inconvenience or disruption to their tax-related transactions. IT department asked taxpayers to complete any pending tasks or submissions before the scheduled maintenance period begins to prevent any delays or issues.

However, taxpayers are aviced to stay updated with further announcements and advisories from the Income Tax Department regarding the resumption of services on the e-filing portal following the completion of the scheduled maintenance activities.
