Instagram's new disappearing photo-sharing feature, "Instants," intended to rival Snapchat, has instead become a source of frustration for users. The feature's confusing interface, implemented as a "mini photo stack" within the inbox, leads to accidental sharing of private photos.
Photos are sent immediately upon pressing the shutter button, and sharing with the "Close Friends" list requires manual selection each time. Consequently, users unintentionally send personal photos to unintended recipients. While an "Undo" option exists, it's only effective before the recipient views the photo, and users often don't realize when a photo has been sent, prompting calls for the feature to be disabled.
How to Disable the Instagram 'Instants' Feature:
If you wish to remove this feature from your Instagram inbox, simply follow the easy steps below:
1. First, open your Instagram app and navigate to your Profile.2. Tap on the three-line menu located in the top-right corner of the screen and select 'Settings.'3. Now, scroll down and click on the 'Content Preferences' section.4. Here, you will find an option labeled "Hide Instants in Inbox."5. Toggle the switch next to this option to turn it on. As soon as you enable this option, 'Instants' will disappear from your inbox. However, please keep in mind that once you disable this feature, you will also no longer be able to see the 'Instants' photos sent by your friends.
