Beijing, Aug 7 OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that the latest OxygenOS 11 update will bring the 'Always-On Display' feature to the smartphones.

Lau also shared some 'Always-On Display' designs via Weibo, basically confirming the feature is coming, reports GizmoChina.

The social media post also revealed themes for this feature as the CEO shares his preferred one being called "Time."

The smartphone maker has partnered with the Parsons School of Design to enhance the display while the phone is in sleep mode.

The new version of the OS (based on Android 11) should be available for all models from the OnePlus 6 and later.

OnePlus also revealed that the feature would go through a number of testing scenarios before the feature gets implemented in the stable build.

After the initial power consumption tests, the feature has to clear two beta stages of testing.

The 'Always-On Display' feature allows the user to keep a track of the time as well as keep an eye on the notifications without needing to wake the phone's display.
