Bhiwandi: A shocking child abuse case has came to light where an adopted minor girl was reportedly assaulted by her foster mother for calling a neighbouring woman “mamma”. Woman allegedly beat the child and threw chilli powder into her eyes.
According to TOI report, 35-year-old woman was arrested in Bapgaon, Bhiwandi, after video assault went viral. The shocking footage purportedly shows the woman stripping the child, slamming her head against walls, and stuffing dirt and chilli powder into her mouth and eyes. Family lived in the Bapgaon locality of Bhiwandi, and the adopted child last year.
Accused woman was angry for calling someone else mother, and after returning home, she began beating the child severely. On the other hand, husband was seen recording video on her phone. In footages, man is seen telling wife not to beat and throw chilli powder, and if something happens to her, what will we do. Child was seen screaming and crying in pain.
Padgha Police station has taken immediate action after the video surfaced. A case has been registered against the couple and the woman was arrested. “We have taken immediate action after the video surfaced. The accused woman has been arrested, and further investigation A is underway,” he said.

Police said the accused woman was a homemaker, while her husband worked outside the Kalyan Court, preparing notary-related documents. Authorities continued the investigation.
