On the third day of Shiva Navratri the revere Bhasm Aarti was performed at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple. On February 19, thousands of devotees witnessed this divine ritual at the temple.

The chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ echoed across the temple. The devotees waited all night in a line to seek blessings of Lord Shiva on this auspicious day.

“The Lord Shiva Navratri festival is in full swing as we enter the third day of the celebrations. Priests and devotees offered Panchamrit to the Lord during the Bhasm Aarti this morning. Juices from a variety of fruits were used to bathe the god. The 'sheshnag' darshan is scheduled for this evening, and today's unique festival feature will be the god dressed as the groom,” a priest of Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple said to ANI.
