Masked Thieves Break Into Locked Apartment in Kalyan While Family Away, Gold Worth Lakhs Stolen
A bizarre gang involved in a series of housebreaking incidents has created panic in the twin cities of Kalyan and Dombivli. The gang reportedly roams around in cars while wearing animal masks to conceal their identities. According to reports, the masked gang recently targeted a locked house in Kalyan East.
The accused allegedly broke the latch and bolt of the residence before entering the house and stealing gold ornaments weighing around 4.5 tolas from a cupboard. A case has been registered at Kolsewadi.
One of the victim identified as Gajanan Tanaji Patade, resident in Royal gold palace building in the Katemanivali Naka area of Kalyan East, had gone to his village with his family on May 4. Upon discovering the flat locked, thieves broke in around midnight, forced open the cupboard safe, and stole gold ornaments worth ₹2.54 lakh.
According to Sakal reports, Patade's neighbors reported suspicious activity, but the thieves had already fled, according to the complaint. The thieves wore animal masks to conceal their identities from CCTV cameras. This occurred in Kalyan, where a gang targets locked flats using animal masks.
