In a significant crackdown on human trafficking, the Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (AHTC) of the Thane Crime Branch busted a flesh trade racket operating from a hotel in Kalyan city, Thane district. The operation, conducted on Sunday in the Lal Chowkie area, led to the arrest of two women and the rescue of four victims.

According to an official statement on Monday, the arrested individuals had allegedly coerced the victims into prostitution for monetary gains. The rescued women have since been moved to a shelter home for rehabilitation.

A case has been registered under Sections 143(1) and 143(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with relevant provisions of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Authorities have confirmed that further investigations are ongoing to uncover any additional links in the case.
