A man and a three-year-old girl were injured after a portion of plaster and a ceiling fan collapsed on them in a chawl in Maharashtra’s Thane district in the wee hours of Sunday, April 12.
The incident occurred around 3.30 am in a ground-floor room of Tambewadi Chawl on Mumbra bypass road, Yasin Tadvi, chief of the civic Disaster Management Cell, told the news agency PTI.

Asif Khan (32) suffered a head injury, while Asma Khan (3) sustained wounds to her legs, and they were immediately shifted to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa for treatment, Tadvi said.
A team from the disaster management cell and the fire department rushed to the spot and cleared the debris, he said, adding that the condition of the chawl is being examined.
