Thane, Maharashtra (July 30, 2025): An 18-year-old youth lost his life after his motorcycle slipped on a pothole-ridden road in Bhiwandi's Wada area in Thane district. The deceased has been identified as Yash Rajesh More, a resident of Kawad in Madkyacha Pada. On July 20, Yash and his friend were on their way to a gym in Kawad village. Both youths were riding a motorcycle when it hit a pothole and crashed. They sustained serious injuries and were admitted to a private hospital in Thane. After battling for his life for ten days, Yash died on Wednesday morning. His body was brought back home in the evening for last rites.

After his death, angry locals and family members staged a protest by blocking the highway with an ambulance carrying Yash’s body. They refused to perform the final rites until a case was filed against the road contractor and Public Works Department officers.

The roadblock continued for nearly two and a half hours and caused a major traffic jam. Police and traffic officials rushed to the scene to manage the situation. After speaking with the protesters, the officials assured that action would be taken. After this, the protest stopped and traffic started moving again.
