The Kasarvadavali Traffic Sub-Division has announced temporary traffic diversions along Ghodbunder Road to enable essential infrastructure work in the area. Authorities informed that a joint venture between RPS and PRS would undertake the installation of large iron girders near the Mullabaug Bus Depot at Brahmand Junction. Officials explained that the project requires placing heavy structural beams onto pre-built pillars positioned on either side of the footpath. The move, they stated, is part of ongoing development efforts aimed at strengthening transport infrastructure. The department issued a formal notification to alert commuters about the planned changes and ensure necessary precautions are followed.

According to officials, the construction work involves lifting and positioning girders measuring 48 metres in length, 3.80 metres in width and 4 metres in height. These massive iron structures will be carefully mounted onto pillars that have already been constructed at the site. Authorities highlighted that due to the scale and complexity of the operation, special arrangements are required to maintain public safety. They noted that heavy machinery will be deployed for the installation, making it necessary to regulate traffic movement in surrounding areas. The operation is expected to be conducted with strict adherence to safety protocols.

To prevent congestion and reduce risks during the heavy-lifting process, traffic restrictions will be enforced during late-night and early-morning hours. At Brahmand Signal, vehicles heading towards Manpada or Kapurbawadi will not be permitted to enter. Motorists have been advised to turn left at Brahmand Signal, proceed via Brahmand Circle, continue through Azad Nagar Road, reach Lodha Amara Junction, travel along Kolshet-Dhokali Road and then turn right towards Kapurbawadi. These alternate routes have been designated to ensure smoother vehicular movement while the installation work is underway.

Similarly, vehicles attempting to ascend the Manpada Flyover near the MG Motors showroom towards Thane will face restrictions. Officials stated that motorists should instead use the slip road beside the bridge, take a left turn at Nagori Tea Stall, move towards Tikujini Wadi Circle, and then turn right via the road in front of Variant Neelkanth Greens before rejoining traffic at Mullabaug Cut. The diversions will be implemented in two phases, from 11:45 PM on March 2 to 5:00 AM on March 3, 2026, and again from 11:45 PM on March 3 to 5:00 AM on March 4, 2026. Emergency services will remain exempt. The Thane Traffic Police has urged commuters to cooperate and plan their travel accordingly.
