Thane Tragedy: 52-Year-Old Man Feared Drowned in Mithbunder Creek After Going Missing

A tragic incident reported in Thane's 52-year-old man is feared to have drowned in the Mithbunder creek. According to reports two days after he went missing after leaving his footwear on the banks. As per the report, Yasin Tadvi, in-charge at the Regional Disaster Management Cell, Kopri resident Datta Shinalkar left home Wednesday morning, but as he remained unreachable till the next day.

After man went missing family informed the official his family alerted the authorities. CCTV footage showed him heading towards the creek Wednesday noon, where they spotted his footwear along the banks. Authorities, launched search operation and suspended Friday late night, along with local fishermen who failed to trace him, leaving authorities to suspect him to have drowned.

On May 5, twin siblings Shravani and Ganesh Sable, 11, drowned in a Vasaiwadi pond in Junnar taluka. They were playing nearby as their sister washed clothes. Villagers rescued them after 30 minutes, but both were declared dead at the Otur Primary Health Centre. The Sable family and village mourn the loss. Otur police are investigating.
