Alexander Schallenberg is an Austrian diplomat, jurist and independent politician who is presently the designate Acting Chancellor of Austria. Since 2019, he has been serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs in the government of Chancellor Sebastian Kurz. On October 9, 2021, he became the designate Chancellor after Kurz's resignation.
