Babur, born Zahīr ud-Dīn Muhammad, was the founder and first Emperor of the Mughal dynasty in India. He was a direct descendant of Emperor Timur from what is now Uzbekistan.Babur was born in Andijan, in the Fergana Valley, in modern Uzbekistan.
