The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation is the chief governing body of Visakhapatnam city. Its jurisdiction encompasses an area of 688.96 km². It is also part of the planning body of the Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority. G. Srijana is the present municipal commissioner of the city.
