Wajed Ali Khan Panni, also known as Chand Mian and by the epithet Atiyar Chand, was a Bengali politician, educationist and the Zamindar of Karatia. He was famed for his charitable works as a philanthropist. He is a descendant of the Famous Pashtun/Pathan tribe "Panni" Of Afghanistan. His forefathers migrated here from Afghanistan during the Mughal era.
