Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Following continuous traffic congestion and waterlogging at the Shivajinagar underpass, authorities sprang into action on Tuesday. Officials from the Railways, Public Works Department, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) and the municipal corporation inspected the site despite intense heat and set a 15-day deadline to resolve the issues.

The railway department will once again repair the drainage line and install a mud pump at the underpass. MSEDCL has assured that obstructing cables will be removed within five days.

During the inspection, officials reviewed persistent traffic snarls and monsoon water accumulation. Suggestions included extending the underpass shed, installing an iron frame at the entrance, and ensuring regular cleaning of drainage pipelines and grills.

Railway official Nooruddin Abid confirmed that drainage repairs and joint fixes will be completed within 15 days, while MSEDCL’s Mahendra Deshmukh said cable removal work will be finished in 4–5 days.
