Aurangabad, Nov 12:

District collector Sunil Chavan said that drones will be employed for surveillance on SSC and HSC supplementary November-December examinations centres in the district.

It may be noted that the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) will conduct the examinations from November 20 to December 10. A total of 2,795 candidates will appear for the 12th class examinations at 15 centres. As many as eight custodians appointed to maintain secretary and collect examinations material from the centre. Over 2,402 students will take the SSC examinations at 15 centres between November 20 and December 5.

Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Sunil Chavan said the drone would be used first time for surveillance 10th and 12th examinations centres across the State.

“Drones will be deployed to put a check on malpractice on centres. It will also do the shooting of the centres. Students should study honestly and appear for the examination,” he said.

He appealed to parents not crowd outside the examinations centres because of COVID situation. If anyone enters the 100 yards premises of centre during the examination period, a case will be filed against him/her.

There will be flying squads led by education officer (secondary) and education officer (Continuous Education) while a team of bloc education officer will be deployed on tehsil level.

The centres will also have sitting squads. There will be 50 per cent invigilators from education department remaining from other departments.

All students, teachers and other staff members will have to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

The centre chiefs were asked to keep handwash. The screening of each student will be mandatory, so, a team of primary health centres.

Deputy commissioner Meena Makwana, education officer (secondary) Dr B B Chavan and others were present at the briefing.
