Aurangabad, Nov 19: Around 2.25 lakh students took online admissions to affiliated colleges within the jurisdiction of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu).

It may be noted all the colleges and university departments were shut down with the spread of Novel coronavirus since March-end. All the departments of the university were reopened in June, and later colleges also started. Online teaching is being as the Government has not given permission for actual teaching.

To contain the spread of COVID, the online admission process was started for the departments and affiliated colleges. There was a doubt over the higher education admission process specially in rural areas. The MKCL has made available online admission facility free of cost.

The online applications were invited for different courses, including B Sc, B A, B Com. Nearly 90 pc students preferred to take admission and pay the fee online. College principals, teaching and non-teaching staff, expressed satisfaction on online admission. It has saved time and money of students and parents.
