2588 Lamp offering festival to mark Buddha Jayanti on Friday

The Buddhist Upasak-Upasika Social Foundation has organised a 2588 lamp offering festival on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti on Friday. The event will be held from 6 pm to 9 pm in front of the statue of Tathagata at Siddharth Udyan.

On the occasion of the 2588th Buddha Purnima, a lamp offering and kheer distribution will be organised. Bhikkhu and Bhikkhuni Sangha, along with devotees and children, will participate. Attendees are requested to bring lamps or candles. The lamps will be lit after the Dhamma discourse by the Bhikkhu Sangha, informed foundation president Sharad Jadhav, senior litterateur Dr prof. Rishikesh Kamble, Dr Pramod Duthade, K.B. Divekar and Engg. Ashok Anandarao.
