Aurangabad, June 5:

Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University announced the schedule of the second phase of Ph D admission on Saturday. Deputy registrar Dr Ganesh Manza said that those who were declared eligible through the Ph D Entrance Test (PET) and exempted from it can register online for the second phase of the Ph admissions between June 7 and 30.

The university conducted PET in two parts for Ph D admissions in 45 subjects between January and March within its jurisdiction in the first phase. A total of 4,299 candidates qualified PET and were declared eligible for the second phase. Aspirants can register up to June 30 and submit the hard copy by July 5. Those who have qualified M Phil, NET, SET, JRF, GATE, GPAT and other national tests were exempted from PET. The list of vacant seats and research guides was also released.

Pro-Vice-chancellor Dr Shyam Shirsath, deans-Dr Walmik Sarwade, Dr Chetna Sonkamble, Dr Bhalchandra Waykar, Dr Dhanashri Mahajan and director of Board of Examinations and Evaluation Dr Yogesh Patil finalised the list of guides and vacant seats in a meeting that vice-chancellor Dr Pramod Yeole chaired.

The presentation of the research proposal before the Research and Recognition Committee will be held next month.

Of the total PET passed candidates, the highest number of aspirants are for English (384) while the lowest are in Liberal Arts ( two). The subject-wise figure of other candidates is as follows; Archaeology (three), Biochemistry (28), Botany (187),
