70 per cent beneficiaries turned up for taking Covid-19 vaccine; 352, out of 500, benefitted today

Aurangabad, Jan 16:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) had targetted to administer Covid-19 vaccine to 500 doctors and paramedical staff through its five vaccination centres at Bansilalnagar, Sadatnagar, Bhimnagar, Cidco N-11 and Cidco N-8 in the city.

Each centre was supposed to give the vaccine to 100 beneficiaries (doctors and paramedical staff), only 352 beneficiaries (70 per cent) reported at these five centres till 5 pm. The centre wise figures of beneficiaries recorded by each centre are as follows: 81 each at Cidco N-11 and Bansilanagar; 80 - Cidco N-8; 69 - Sadatnagar and 41- Bhimnagar (Bhausinghpura).

Distribution of 120 doses at each centre

A quantity of 20,000 Covishield vaccines has been stored in the ILR cold storage at Bansilalnagar. As the day broke, the civic health officials started dispatching 120 doses each to four centres at 7 am, while the stock of 120 doses to Bansilalnagar was given at 9 am.

First shot of the vaccine

Trained ANM administered the medical officers and private practitioners the vaccine at each centre. The names of the first beneficiary, the name of ANM administering the vaccine and the time of first shot are as follows: Bansilalnagar: Dr Rajendra Vaidya - Jayshree Kharat - 11.22 am ; Bhimnagar: Dr Suhasini Patil - Varsha Jadhav - 11.30 am; Cidco N-8: Dr Megha Jogdand - Saroj Rathod - 11.30 am; Cidco N-11: Dr Sandhya Kondpalle - Vandana Salve - 11.34 am and Sadatnagar: Dr Deepak Maslekar - Asma Shaikh - 12.12 am.
