Aurangabad, May 9:

The Waluj MIDC police nabbed the Harsul jail prisoner fled away from the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) with the handcuff after jerking the hand of the assistant sub-inspector. He was absconding for the past seven days and was arrested from his house at Gogeshwari.

The prisoner, Shaikh Shakeel Shaikh Aref (25, Kasambari Dargah area, Padegaon) is a judicial prisoner of Harsul Jail in looting and attacking the police cases. On May 3, ASI Ambadas Pawar took him to the GMCH for treating his ailment. He jerked the hand of Pawar and fled away with the handcuffs. A case was registered in this regard at the Begumpura police station. Commissioner of police established teams to search this notorious goon. Meanwhile, Waluj MIDC police station PI Madhukar Sawant received the information that he is hiding in a house at Jogeshwari. Accordingly, PSI Chetan Ogale, ASI Mohan Patil, constable Bandu Gore, Deepak Kolimi and Kishor Gade laid a trap and arrested Shakeel, last night. The police have seized the handcuffs from him.
