Aurangabad, March 17:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) administrator, A K Pandey, today expressed his concern over the sudden rise in Covid-19 patients in the city since the past fortnight. The administration may face inconvenience in arranging the medical infrastructure (beds and workforce) if the situation is not controlled. Hence, he sought people's participation in implementing the vaccination drive. Acting upon the government orders, therefore, the AMC will be implementing the " My Ward 100 per cent Vaccinated" campaign in the city.

Pandey, in his live address with the citizens through Facebook, in the afternoon, has mentioned deploying teams for vaccination in different parts of the city (including containment zones). Presently, there are 24 static testing centres (including AMC health centres, GMCH, DCH and 15 private hospitals) in the city. Considering the gravity of the situation, the AMC is increasing the Covid Care Centres (CCCs) and arranging the 5,000

beds in them. In terms of vaccination, we will be implementing the vaccination drive in all wards of the city. The administrator appealed to all the public representatives, including the MP, MLAs and MLCs, to coordinate the administration in the implementation of the drive.

Additional 10 teams for vaccination

Under the drive ' Vaccine Centre at your Doorstep', we will constitute additional ten teams for the vaccine. This team will visit the containment zones. Each team will comprise of two doctors, two nurses, data-entry operators etc. This team will also focus on vaccinating the company workers travelling on buses.

Independent planning for working personnel

We have made a separate vaccination programme for workers and other working staff. Our health squads will be available at each vaccination centre (in break shift) daily from 6 am to 10 am and 4 pm to 8 pm.

Target of 3 lakh vaccine

The government will be providing 3 lakh vaccines 'free of cost' to the citizens of Aurangabad. Of which, 50,000 has been vaccinated, and the remaining vaccine will be administered in the next three months. The government had set a target of 3 lakh vaccination to the AMC.
