AMC gets 20 k COVID vaccine doses; stored in Bansilalnagar cold storage

Aurangabad, Jan 13:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) received 20,000 doses of Novel coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday morning.

AMC additional commissioner B B Nemane, health officer Dr Neeta Padalkar, deputy commissioner Aparna Thete, Dr Mujeeb Syed from World Health Organisation, medical officer Dr Ujwala Bhamre were present. The vaccines were stored at Bansilalnagar cold storage.

Dr Neeta Padalkar said that the vaccine would be administered to health employees from January 16 in the first phase. She said that the vaccine would be administered to doctors and employees of the city at Primary Health Centre (PHC) of Bhimnagar, Cidco N-11 (Dry Run Hospital), PHC in Sadat Nagar, Silk Mill Colony Hospital and Bansilalnagar Hospital.

B B Nemane said that the Civic Body had already carried out dry run and the vaccination would commence as per the Government directives. Dr Mujeeb Syed said that vaccine is safe and people should not fear to take it.

The stock of vaccines from the Health and Family Welfare Training Centre, Cidco, were brought to the AMC today. The van of vaccine reached the entrance of the AMC. Members of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) who were agitating blocked the gate for their demands. Police and security guards took the activists aside the agitators.
