Aurangabad, Jan 15:

The Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will be administering Covid-19 vaccine to 500 health care personnel through its five vaccination centres in the city, on Saturday. The centres are set up in civic primary health centres and hospitals situated at Bhimnagar, Cidco N-11, Sadatnagar, Silk Mills Colony and Bansilalnagar.

The AMC had received stock of 20,000 Covishield vaccines. It will be given to 100 personnel at each centre. The name of the vaccination centre and time are forwarded to all 500 health personnel on their mobile phones. We have deployed a team of six personnel at each centre. The officials from the health department will also be visiting the centres. We have completed all the preparations and are on toes to implement the vaccination programme tomorrow, said the municipal officer of health (MoH) Dr Neeta Padalkar.

It is learnt that the AMC will dispatch the stock of 100 Covishield vaccines to each centre tomorrow (on Saturday) morning. One bottle of 5 ml vaccine is sufficient to administer 9-10 persons, considering 10 per cent waste. The AMC will implement the vaccine programme from 9 am to 5 pm.
