A 59-year-old man was duped of Rs 43,000 after two unidentified persons swapped his ATM card on the pretext of offering help at an ATM near Gajanan Maharaj Temple around 4 pm on April 21.

Vijay Chavan (Swarajnagar, Balapur Phata), had gone to an NKGSB Bank ATM to withdraw cash when the transaction failed due to a technical issue. Two men present at the kiosk offered assistance, took his card and PIN, and later left. Soon after, Chavan received an alert of Rs 43,000 being withdrawn from his account. The accused had allegedly returned a different card while retaining his original one. Jawaharnagar police are probing the case.
