Bamu signs MoU with Skill Development Society
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: the Maharashtra State Skill Development Society (MSSDS) and Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) signed an important Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Sunday to collaborate in the field of skill development.
This agreement will help in the effective implementation of skill-based courses in affiliated colleges.
As per this agreement, the university will coordinate with MSSDS to implement skill development activities.
In this, a structured system will be developed to include skill-based courses in regular undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses. Thus, the academic points (credits) obtained by the students will be considered for the semester examination.
This initiative will help in promoting the skill development component of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The agreement was signed under the guidance of Minister Mangal Prabhat Lodha. Through this, short-term skill training programmes will be organised for students, which will enhance their employability by developing their professional skills. This training will be developed keeping in mind the needs of the industry sector, so that students will get better opportunities for modern employment.
Registrar Dr Prashant Amrutkar, MSSDS representatives Manoj Bagul and Yogesh Joshi were present. Dr Bharati Gawli (director, Deendayal Upadhyay Skill Centre) and Suresh Warade (Assistant Commissioner, Skill Development, Employment, Entrepreneurship and Innovation Department) also graced the event.
