Ban on laser and beam lights in airport zone
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:
To prevent accidents caused by pilots losing focus during aircraft take-off and landing, Commissioner of Police (CP) Praveen Pawar has imposed a ban on the use of laser lights and beam lights within a 15-km radius of the airport area until July 5.
The restriction applies to farmhouses, banquet halls, and public events in the vicinity of the airport. Laser and beam lights are often used extensively during wedding ceremonies, social events, and farmhouse parties.
Such intense light beams can distract pilots during aircraft take-off and landing, potentially compromising flight safety. The CP has appealed to owners of banquet halls, farmhouse operators, and event organisers in the airport vicinity to strictly comply with the directive.
