Bomb threat email triggers panic at post office; normalcy restored in 90 minutes

An email threatening to blow up the post office and passport seva kendra at 11.57 am on Wednesday triggered panic. Police from City Chowk police station, along with the bomb detection squad and ATS, rushed to the spot and evacuated employees and citizens, leading to brief chaos.
Police took control of the premises for nearly 90 minutes. Around 18 personnel and two sniffer dogs conducted a thorough search of the two-storey building, but no suspicious object was found. Normal operations resumed soon after.
The operation was led by senior police inspector Nirmala Pardeshi and inspector Somnath Jadhav. Senior superintendent of post offices Suresh Bansode confirmed the situation was brought under control swiftly.

Alert across city
The Juna Bazar Post Office saw heavy security deployment, resembling a police camp, while other offices were kept on alert. No threat materialised, and citizens heaved a sigh of relief.
